When darkness settled in Ravenwood, it not only made the windows appear as portals into the depths of hell but it darkened the entire building. The lights in all of the rooms were shut off automatically from a switch that she assumed was located somewhere on the same floor and manipulated by some ass of a young man who liked to keep them up late and force them to awaken early. The pajamas were just the same as the daytime clothes. Gray sweatpants and a plain, short sleeved, white t-shirt. It had been shower day for Lydia and she had thoroughly enjoyed it. As the very young nurse stood only feet from her as she showered under the open water head sticking out from the tile wall all she could do was smile. Whenever she would catch the woman taking a look at her she would make it a point to show her some of her rather privately placed tattoos and tell her about them until her pale cheeks flushed pink. ”This one, haha, my buddy Jacob did it for me. Damn did that boy do a job on me.” A smirk found one side of her lips as her hand rubbed her side gently and just below her left breast where a thorny vine seemed to travel from her side, up onto her breast, and down to her ribs. The entire showering process did not take very long at all, and was actually being rather rushed by little-miss-priss. The temperature of her room sent chills down her spine as she shuffled across the tile floor, her long blonde hair hanging around her shoulders and dripping down the back of her shirt. The bed moaned as she sat on the edge of it and crossed her legs indian-style before leaning over the edge and squeezing out the lengths of her hair. Lydia’s long blonde tangles made a small puddle of water on the floor next to her bed. She curled up on her side, allowing the sheets to cover her feet in hopes of finding some warmth. Her bright green eyes took to the small pool of water on the floor next to her bed. The water had grouped together all of the small droplets to make a rather large bubble of sorts that interested her. She stared into it, watching the reflections of her hand as she waved it above the water. Watching the reflections began to stir what felt like was a memory but she wasn’t quite sure, it seemed more like a dream to her. First she saw her legs spread out before her, bare, but they were blurred, like they were submerged in water. But the water surrounding her was not clear like the puddle on the floor, it was not transparent the way water was supposed to be. It looked as though someone had spilled an entire bottle of that very potent little red food coloring into the water. Only the food coloring was gathering in thicker clouds in some places and in others it was merely a pink tint in the water. And then it all stopped, there was no water surrounding her anymore. There was no red food coloring. There was no burning pain in her arms that made her stomach turn. There was only the small, clear pool of water on the floor just beside her bed. But Lydia’s hand was no longer hovering above the water, her fingers were clenched so tightly onto the side of her bed that her knuckles had begun to turn white.[/blockquote]

She was broken. Her beautiful fashionable clothing had been stripped from her body and replaced with frumpy gray sweatpants and a white tee shirt. Her glossy blonde hair had been swept up in an elegant bun, but now it fell down over her shoulders, stopping mid-back. Her beautiful features were turned down into a frown and her face was now void of all makeup. She looked like she belonged here, though she screamed for her parents to take her home... anywhere but this place. She walked behind the nurse- the woman giving her looks that reminded Natalie of the way a predator would regard it's prey on the hunt. The stout chubby woman looked to be in her mid to late forties, fake blonde hair- not the naturally beautiful shade that Natalie's held. Her features were chubby and the woman was abnormally curvy. Natalie decided right then and there that this woman could not be trusted. She would keep an eye out for her. This woman was out to get her for sure.
Finally the woman stopped walking, her fat feet coming to an abrupt hault next to an ordinary looking white door. "This will be your room. Play nice with your roommate... she's a fun one," the woman said, a sinister smirk on her ugly lips. Yes, this woman was definitely trying to torture her. "No no this must be a mistake. I'm supposed to have a suite. I'm supposed to be alone. My parents paid for me to have the best. Why are you doing this to me?" she said, beginning to become angry and confused and scared. The evil little nurse shoved her in the room and locked the door from the outside. Natalie could hear her laughing as she walked away, without answering her questions. "WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME?! I NEED TO CALL MY PARENTS! GET BACK HERE! THIS IS WRONG!" she screamed hysterically at the door, banging her fists and crying.
After a few long moments, the click-clacking of the evil woman's heels had disappeared and Natalie grimmaced, realizing her protests were yeilding her no results. She turned and froze as she saw the blonde girl on the bed. "Hello," she said quietly, wiping her eyes and running her fingers through her long hair. She was nervous to meet this roommate, as she had been expecting her own private suite for the duration of her stay.

After quite some time of lying very still in her bed her palms began to sweat against the stiff white sheets and her eyes seemed to be unable to move from the tiny puddle on the floor. The sound of coming feet and the echoing of voices began to stir her from her solitude of mind. Lydia forced herself to look up at the door as it creaked open and a very young blonde was shoved through the door. The girl’s display wasn’t all that unfamiliar. Almost every aspect of what she had done and screamed was something so very similar to how Lydia felt herself, but refused to show to everyone.
Her sweaty palms pushed into the hard mattress so that she could put herself into an upright position to greet her guest. A hint of a smile curved the corner of her mouth as she tilted her head sideways to examine the young girl. She was very thin, far too thin to be good for anyone, and she was very gorgeous. ”Well hey there!”
Her voice contradicted everything she was feeling at the moment, but that’s what she was good at-killing her emotions whenever she was around people. She swung her feet around the edge of the bed and slid off, her bare feet disagreeing with the icy tiles. Lydia approached the girl with one arm over her stomach and the other hand tapping her lips gently. She stopped just feet shy of the girl and looked her up and down without any discretion. ”You’re a pretty one, and I don’t see any physical damage.” Her head shook and her curls bounced as she walked back to the bed that had been given to her and hopped onto it so that she could relax. Lydia laid down on her back and put one arm up behind her head, wincing as she did so. ”Must mean you’re a psycho, damn I was hoping to get a fighter not a cry baby.” She spoke to the empty room and stared at the ceiling before allowing her eyes to close with a smile spread wide across her lips.[/blockquote]

Right off the bat, Natalie felt defensive against her new roommate. The woman was pretty, blonde, and had a slender build, tho she wasn't as thin as Natalie was. Her attitude just rubbed Natalie the wrong way. "I'm not a psycho... or a cry baby," she stated defiantly. She looked the girl up and down as she laid on her bed, noticing how she winced as her arm went above her head. She saw bandages over her forearms and frowned. "I'm here for depression, anxiety, and paranoia. And right now I feel really anxious about this place," she said, a shiver running down her spine. She walked over to her bed and sat on it, bouncing up and down a couple times. The mattress was lumpy but stiff. She frowned, not knowing how many others had slept on it before her. The thought disgusted her.
"I'm Natalie by the way," she said, and held her hand out tentitively. She took a deep breath and tried hard to calm her nerves, which seemed to be on hyper drive since her parents left. "My parents brought me here under the impression that Ravenwood was a spa. You can imagine my shock at seeing that it was much less than what I'd been told," she told the girl. She had hoped the unnecessary conversation would make the girl see Natalie as friendly. She didn't want to kick off her time here by bunking with an enemy.

She listened in silence as the girl rattled on about how she wasn’t crazy and how she wouldn’t cry either. A scoff came from her plump pale rose colored lips, this girl just had to be a card. ”Well, Natalie, frankly I don’t care if you’re anxious, hell I don’t even care to know your name.”
She cracked one eye to look across the room at the young girl who was bouncing up and down on her bed causing the springs to creak obnoxiously loud. The first night was always the longest, that much had become clear to Lydia since she’d first been brought there. At first the nights were difficult for her, the sounds of other crazies screaming for no apparent reason would flip a switch in her, one that would cause her to take out how she felt on the walls in the room. Since she had no roommate there was no need to worry about who she’d disturb if she decided to take her fists to the walls in her room in the middle of the night. To be honest, every once in a while, Lydia was the crazy screaming in the middle of the night. And oh, the things they would do to you if you happened to be the reason that an attendant would have to leave their comfy chairs in the break room in the quiet of the night. She learned fast to keep her fists up if someone came to shut her up, especially if it was man. Lydia sat up straight in her bed and looked at the girl across from her with skepticism written all across her face. ”What I do care about, is the six foot two man that’s going to come through that door and rough you up if you throw another bitch fit like that. So pipe down, alright? This isn’t a spa, and you sure as hell won’t survive if you keep that idea in your head.” This Natalie girl wasn’t bad looking so the male guards would surely feel free to get acquainted with her on a more personal level, one she probably wouldn’t be too keen on. ”You’re in for a wild ride honey, you best keep hold of those panties.”[/blockquote]
